Elephant Pepper Camp is a seasonal permanent tented camp situated right on the northern edge of the Maasai Mara reserve. There are eight tents and each has an en suite bathroom and veranda. Elephant Pepper Camp brings people back to nature, no generator, no traffic, no permanent structures obstructing your view, just the sights and sounds of the African bush. The camp is located in the middle of the 2,235 square mile protected Koyaki wilderness area, away from other lodges. Looking from the camp across the plains one can see the ‘greatest game show on earth when the annual wildebeest migration thunders past to seek new grazing in the lush savannahs of the Maasai Mara.
Activities include extended game drives each day in 4X4 vehicles, walks with Masai, some night game drives, bush breakfast, picnics and sundowners. An optional balloon flight and day trip to Rusinga Island (Lake Victoria) can be arranged at extra cost.
The safari camp has been created with that "Out of Africa" feel. You are looked after by attentive staff that bring steaming hot water for your canvas showers, prepare sumptuous meals and offer your favorite "sundowner" cocktail. Every comfort is assured, your every need catered for. Yet, at the end of the season, there is no sign that man has disturbed the serenity of the surroundings.
