The River Club is situated on the Zambezi River, upstream from the Victoria Falls. It is set among the lush riverine vegetation and the camp has a distinct Edwardian flavor. Guests here can enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River in a peaceful and tranquil setting away from the crowds.
Ten luxury thatched chalets perch on the riverbank, open-fronted to enhance the vista across the river. The main building houses the lounge, dining room and an interesting library with a variety of books and parlor games. The verandah is the focal point - a comfortable area from which to take in the stunning view, enjoy afternoon tea or relax with a book. The swimming pool has a spectacular view across the river.
Daily trips to the Victoria Falls are organized and this magnificent ‘Wonder of the World’ is a highlight of every visitor’s trip. There is an abundance of guest activities to choose from that are included in your stay:
a) sunset boat cruise,
b) a trip to the local village school, which is supported by donations from guests,
c) challenging tiger fishing,
d) island walks and river cruises in an area rich in bird life
A host of other activities are available at an extra cost including white water rafting, canoeing, helicopter “Flight of Angels”, jet boating, horse and elephant back rides. There is something for everyone - from relaxing on the Zambezi River to adrenalin-pumping activities.
