Day 01
Arrive Ndarakwai. The 10,000 acre private wildlife conservation area is located in the foothills west of Mt. Kilimanjaro, between Amboseli and about one and a half hours’ drive from Arusha. There is permanent water – a key element in making it a haven for wildlife – especially in the dry season. Overnight Ndarakwai Ranch.
Day 02-07
A wide variety of volunteer activities are offered, including meeting and walking with Ranch game scouts, who protect the wildlife; or helping at the local Maasai schools and villages set in classic African acacia landscape. The tree house is a favorite destination during the dry seasons where guests are likely to gaze down at a herd of sixty or more elephants at the waterhole. Also new is an elephant interaction to meet the ranch’s habituated elephants, Nkarsis and Riziki. Ndarakwai is a fabulous place to experience an authentic Maasai cultural immersion.
