  • Day 01
  • Fly from Johannesburg to Antananarivo (Tana). On arrival you will be met and transfer to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. This is a 3 ½ hour journey on a good tarred road offering picturesque scenery en route. On arrival check into the hotel and then explore the rainforest of Andasibe-Mantadia. Overnight Vakona Lodge.
  • Day 02+03
  • Two days to explore Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. To see the most wildlife (especially Indris and birds) be in the rainforest as close to daybreak as the animals are most active then. The trails are not difficult to manage and the forest guides speak English. You should also encounter the likes of Grey Bamboo Lemur, Red-fronted Brown Lemur; birds like the lovely Blue Coua; Sunbird-Asity and Nuthatch Vanga, as well as impressive reptiles like Malagasy Tree Boa and Parson’s Chameleon. Orchids and other epiphytes festoon the trees. 2 nights Vakona Lodge.
  • Day 04
  • This morning is spent in Andasibe. Afternoon transfer to Tana. Overnight Palissandre Hotel.
  • Day 05-07
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Fort Dauphin (via Tulear). On arrival you will be transferred to your lodge. Enjoy three days at leisure. The lodge offers a large variety of activities for guests. Swimming and snorkeling in the sheltered bay is recommended, as well as day and night walks in the rainforest to spot lemurs and birds. During the whale-watching season (June to November) the lodge employs a fast speedboat to take guests out to see them. 3 nights Manafiafy.
  • Day 08
  • Transfer this morning to the airport for your scheduled flight to Tana. Onward connecting flight to Johannesburg.
