Off the Mainland of Mozambique is the Bazaruto Archipelago which includes the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra and Margaruque. Further north is the Quirimbas Archipelago very near the southern Tanzania coast. The island lodges have a barefoot-type atmosphere with lovely beaches and a host of activities. The islands are home to 140 bird species including flamingos and pelicans. There is a wide variety of sea life including humpback whales, turtles, manta rays, dolphins and dugongs.
