Abu Camp
Abu Camp, set in a pristine pocket of riverine forest, is located in a 400,000 acre private reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Abu features six luxurious “tents” built under a shady canopy in an ancient riverine forest. The tents, each with en suite facilities with a shower and a bath, have a unique design with a private viewing deck and plunge pool overlooking the lagoon. The lounge and dining tent has beautiful big sofas, with a breathtaking view and also features a well-stocked library and a study.
Offering the ultimate elephant education safari, you are invited to become part of the camp’s resident elephant family. Enjoy watching them being fed in the evenings, playing with the youngsters and accompanying them on foot as they walk through the bush. Additional activities include game drives, night drives, walks and mokoro (dugout canoe) safaris.
For those looking for more adventure, there is the opportunity to spend the night under the stars in the Abu “Star Bed”. Overlooking the Elephant Boma, the upper deck is open to the stars and features a queen-size bed and the lower level has a bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. You are transferred to the star bed following dinner in camp and picked up the following morning. This can be pre-booked from April-November.
