Kaingo Camp

Vintage A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Class A" properties. Facilities could be "Class A," but located in a sub-standard game-viewing area.

Kaingo Camp is located across the Luangwa River from Tafika and Nsefu Camps, in the South Luangwa National Park. Offering complete privacy, each of the six thatched en suite chalets has its own spacious verandah and hidden outdoor bathtub. A unique feature is the individual deck built out over the river in front of each chalet offering guests a relaxing vantage point in which to view game coming down to the river to drink.

The large and centrally located open-sided “chitenge” includes a dining area, library and Kaingo’s renowned thousand-year-old lead-wood bar where guests gather each evening to share tales of their day. During your stay, there is the opportunity to spend an incredible night on Kaingo’s Elephant Hide Star Bed (additional fees apply).

Daily activities include walks, day and night game drives and photography from a number of hides.
