Manyara Ranch Conservancy
Manyara Ranch Conservancy is a private 35,000-acre land conservancy in partnership with the local Maasai communities, Tanzania Land Conservation Trust and African Wildlife Foundation. The ranch is located within Tanzania's Kwakuchinja Corridor, the migratory route between Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks. There is a healthy population of wildlife including elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and eland. Predators include cheetah, lion, leopard and even wild dog.
The conservancy's accommodations include eight deluxe tents with en suite bathrooms, flush toilets, hot-cold water showers and private verandahs. The main lounge area offers indoor-outdoor dining and small bar. Activities include guided game walks, day and night game drives on the ranch as well as to the neighboring parks, visits to a hide, partner villages and bush breakfasts. Unique to the ranch is participating in research activities to promote ongoing conservation projects in collaboration with the African Wildlife Foundation.
