Mokolwane

Located in the south-western corner of the Okavango Delta, within the Xudum concession, Mokolwane is the only camp in a virtually untouched 200 000-hectare private setting. The camp features seven canvas style tents built 10 feet above the ground each with en suite facilities including indoor showers, flush toilets and hot and cold running water. The communal dining area is also on a raised platform where you can relax and enjoy your meals with spectacular views, and at night, sit back and take in some exceptional star gazing.

Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, and seasonal mokoro, as well as an opportunity to experience a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta (additional fees apply). The area has large numbers of buffalo and elephants coming through the concession at various times of year and has the third highest density of leopard recorded anywhere in Africa. Smaller species are also found in abundance including bat-eared fox, side-striped and black-backed jackal, African wild cats, honey badgers, meerkat and mongoose. During a night drive you may see porcupine, aardwolf, aardvark, civet and genet. Bird lovers can enjoy finding wattle cranes, Pel’s fishing owl, martial eagles and huge flocks of quelea.
