A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Classic," but located in a sub-standard game viewing area.
Old Mondoro is a tented bush camp, on the banks of the Zambezi, deep inside Lower Zambezi National Park and 18 miles downstream from Chiawa Camp. Constructed of natural materials and canvas, the eight tents offer an open-feeling, natural lighting, mosquito netting, Egyptian cotton linens, en suite flush toilets, in-door and out-door showers and a large “splash tub” on the outdoor deck overlooking the Zambezi River. The emphasis is on walking, canoeing, limited game drives and catch and release fishing.
