A lodge or tented camp with very good food and service, and many have swimming pools. The rooms/tents are of good size but perhaps not as large as "Classic" properties. Facilities could be "Classic," but located in a sub-standard game viewing area.
Overlooking the Rufiji River, Rufiji River Camp is a permanent tented camp located in the northeastern part of Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). There are twenty tents that offer en suite facilities each with its own verandah. The shaded bar, lounge and dining area welcome guests after an exciting day of game viewing. Sundowners followed by a dinner of international and local favorites are enjoyed before a night of star gazing begins. Activities include game drives in open vehicles, guided walking safaris, boat trips and fishing.
