Sossus Under Canvas
Sossus Under Canvas is an exclusive-use camp located on the Neuhof Nature Reserve. Bordering Namib-Naukluft National Park, this reserve has been rehabilitated from old farm land and now serves as a refuge for wildlife during the dry season. The region has mountain areas, gravel plains, dry river valley and a raised plateau. Wildlife includes oryx, springbok, zebra, kudu, hartebeest, giraffe, steenbok, bat-eared fox, aardwolf and predators such as leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena. The camp features 8 tents, two of which are family units, each with en suite open-air bathrooms with bucket showers and flush toilets. Activities include excursions to the Sossusvlei dunes and Deadvlei with your private guide. On the Neuhof Nature Reserve you are able to go on nature walks and drives, visits to desert pools, mountain biking, star gazing and sleep outs under the stars. For guests staying three nights or more, there is the opportunity to visit the Neuhof Plateau which offers some of the best views of the Namib Desert.
