2023 Fall Galloping Gnus Newsletter
Greetings AAC friends and family!
We are grateful as the seasons unfold, as all across the savanna, rain has started to fall for a new act on the stage for the most exciting show on earth.
Alison and I will be traveling over Thanksgiving to visit both Kenya and Tanzania. Our adventures will take us to Ngorongoro Conservation area and Gibbs Farm, and include our local school project at Lake Eyasi, We will also catch up with old friends and colleagues at Mara Plains, hosted by Dereck and Beverly Joubert. What an amazing trip to see how these two extraordinary film makers go about their business, impacting the future of wildlife management and the new conservation efforts around the Mara Reserve.
Whether embarking on a dreamy honeymoon, celebrating an anniversary, or simply seeking a family gathering, our 2024 Safari Planner is a passport to igniting the flames to travel. Every destination becomes a canvas for a memory to unfold. Come feed your soul!
Our sales consultants have been busy: Kyle and the Fab 5 recently returned from their travels in East Africa. By having our team on the ground we are able to discover new camps and lodges, revisit tried and true, and continue to empower local communities. Read their AAC TRAVEL BLOG posts.
By traveling to Africa, you have made a positive impact to protecting wildlife and improving the quality of life for the local communities. AAC has determined an organization that shares the same philosophy of this important partnership and we will be donating to the African Parks Foundation. This organization takes on the complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in collaboration with governments and local communities. Their goal is to restore 30 parks by 2030. Moving forward, all of AAC’s “Thank you for your referral” donations will be going to this wonderful organization.
Alison has curated a list of Our Most Intriguing Places to Stay in 2024. There are a few with understated elegance and artful décor; those with a balance to sustainable values and where luxury matters; and those who desire reconnecting with nature and traditional cultures one camp and one community at a time. Each of them are intimate and perfect for our AAC safariers looking for that special experience!
Our 22nd annual photographic competition is ongoing for 2023 trips so please submit your photos by January 30, 2024.
We are thankful for our AAC family and extended circle of friends! Wishing you all a bountiful Thanksgiving to warm your spirits around the table, discussing future safari travels!
