Kyle in South Africa and Zimbabwe
Kyle in South Africa – Day 01+03
Greetings from Cape Town! Kyle Witten (Sales Manager & Senior Safari Consultant) is currently visiting Africa’s most beautiful city and exploring the hottest hotels, tours and restaurants. He has enjoyed staying at Ellerman House and The Silo – which sits perched on the bay with stunning views. A trip up Table Mountain is a must and they were blessed with gorgeous weather. He is also enjoying the Winelands with a stay at Leeu Estates!
Stay tuned as Kyle continues to the Kruger National Park for the thrill of Big Five game viewing as well as visits to Singita Lebombo and Boulders lodges.
Kyle in South Africa – Day 04+05
Greetings from Singita Lebombo!
Today was an early morning wake up at 5:00 am to get ready for our game drive. We saw a white rhino, a relaxed breeding herd of about 30 elephants with babies, a cheetah, Walbergs eagle, Bateleur eagle, Wooly necked stork, impala, zebra, buffalo and wildebeest.
This afternoon I am going for a guided walk and target shooting combo.
The food at Singita Lebombo is outstanding! Better than anything I had in in Cape Town. Time for lunch so let’s see what the chef creates today.
I have included one photo that is a bit of a surprise. This is part of the Shishangaan pride with 19 members. There is one white lion in the whole of Kruger and we found it!
Kyle in South Africa – Day 06-08
Greetings from Singita Ebony! What a spectacular camp! It was a dripping misty day and the elephants are very happy. Wild dog chase this morning and they got an impala, poor thing was all gone in about three minutes, something I have never seen . This morning’s game drive saw fresh leopard tracks and after some searching we were rewarded with this beautiful leopard surveying the bush from a high termite mound. I have also included a picture from my previous camp, Singita Lebombo – my guide, Jacque, is on my left and tracker Sunday on my right.
Kyle in Zimbabwe – Day 09-11
Greetings from Singita Pamushana Lodge! I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing this remote corner of Zimbabwe’s Malilangwe Reserve.
The variety of game has been astounding. I have seen the following all on one game drive…. Verreaux giant eagle owl, Wooly neck stork, Saddle bill stork, buffalo, wildebeest, lion, nyla, African hawk eagle, rock monitor lizard and two white rhino sightings.
Pictured below are two male lions as they finished off a kudo kill.
Kyle in Zimbabwe – Day 12+13
Greetings from Zimbabwe. I bid the team at Pamushana farewell and met up with Sharon and Phil Stead, owners of Amalinda Lodge. We drove from Pamushana across Zimbabwe to their lodge in the Matobo Hills outside of Bulawayo (stopping enroute for ice-cream). Amalinda is incredible, hiked to a rock painting cave this morning with Howard. Could have stayed a few days to explore all of the sites but that will have to wait for another time. Everything thing was calm in Zim and they are excited for a new beginning!
See you back in the USA!
