Get ready to do some armchair traveling with our three recommendations; 2 books to read of African adventures written by a local guide and 2 past AAC travelers.
First up, Lloyd Camp’s Africa Bites: Scrapes and Escapes in the African Bush. We first met Lloyd when he was guiding at Wilderness Safaris in Namibia and Botswana and we’re excited to read about his adventurous career as a safari guide.
Also on our bookshelf, Rick and Wendy Walleigh’s From Silicon Valley to Swaziland: How One Couple Found Purpose & Adventure in an Encore Career. The Walleighs are AAC clients who explored Botswana and Namibia with us, and this book recounts their “retirement” sharing their skills in Swaziland. We’re thrilled for their success.
Blood Lions premiering on October 07 on MSNBC Documentaries @10pm ET. This is a documentary exposé filmed in South Africa on the rapidly expanding canned lion hunting industry (including its by-product, the lion cub petting and walking-with-lions tourist facilities).
