Phinda Private Game Reserve
Phinda is located in the northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This 43,000 acres reserve comprises seven distinct habitats: acacia and broad-leafed savannah, riverine woodland, floodplains, open pans, and rocky hillsides. As a prime conservation area, Phinda shelters an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five and over 380 bird species. Furthermore, other notable animal species include hippos, crocodile, nyala, suni and cheetah.
Day and night game drives occur in open 4x4 safari vehicles are led by experienced rangers and Zulu trackers. Other activities in the reserve include boat cruises, black rhino tracking and game walks. For the very adventurous, four-day, three-night walking safaris allow guests an incredible up-close experience of Phinda’s pristine wilderness. In addition, snorkeling, scuba diving and turtle nesting are available during an optional excursion to the nearby Indian Ocean.
