Your itinerary focuses on a real wildlife experience in South Africa where you will have the opportunity to see the “Big 5”. You will visit two Private Game Reserves where you will take day and night game drives. Finish on a romantic island off the coast of Mozambique.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Durban

On arrival into Durban, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation in Umhlanga.  Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight The Oyster Box.

Day 02

Phinda Private Game Reserve

This morning you will transfer by road to Phinda Game Reserve arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. This afternoon enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight Phinda Forest Lodge or Phinda Rock Lodge.

Day 03+04

Phinda Private Game Reserve

Enjoy two full days of game viewing activities from your lodge. A typical day begins at 5:45 am with early morning tea or coffee, followed by a game drive.  Return to camp for a hearty brunch.  You will have the opportunity to relax by the pool or have an afternoon siesta in your room.  Tea is followed by an afternoon drive which continues into the night.  Return to camp around 8:00 pm for pre-dinner drinks followed by a delicious dinner. 2 nights Phinda Forest Lodge or Phinda Rock Lodge.

Day 05

Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Transfer to the airstrip this morning for your scheduled charter flight to Mpumalanga. On arrival you will board your scheduled charter flight to your lodge’s airstrip. You will be met and transferred to your camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Overnight Ngala Tented Camp or Tengile River Lodge.

Day 06+07

Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Enjoy two full days of game viewing activities from your camp. 2 nights Ngala Tented Camp or Tengile River Lodge.

Day 08

Benguerra Island

This morning transfer to your lodge’s airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to the Mpumalanga airport. Connect with your scheduled flight to Vilanculos, Mozambique. On arrival you will be transferred by helicopter to your lodge. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Overnight &Beyond’s Lodge at Benguerra Island.

Day 09+10

Benguerra Island

Enjoy two full days at leisure and optional activities in paradise! ROMANTIC CASTAWAY PICNIC – Disappear for an afternoon. We’ll ferry you by catamaran to your chosen point to the north or south of the island and leave you there for a blissful time of total seclusion. A table for two under an awning on your very own stretch of beach, complete with a mouth-watering Castaway picnic awaits. 2 nights &Beyond’s Lodge at Benguerra Island.

Day 11

Johannesburg/Depart

Today you will be transferred by helicopter back to Vilanculos in time to board your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.
