Ethiopia has what are considered by many as the most primitive tribes on earth in the Omo River Valley, a visit to this country will truly take you back thousands of years in time.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Addis Ababa

Arrive in Addis and taken to hotel for check in. Afternoon city tour of Addis. Overnight Sapphire Hotel.

Day 02

Arba Minch

Morning city tour in Addis before catching commercial flight down to Arba Minch. Evening boat cruise on Lake Chamo. Overnight Haile Resort.

Day 03

Omo River

Drive from Arba Minch to Lumale Camp on the banks of the Omo River. Visit market towns of Key Afer, Dimeka and Turmi. Overnight Lale’s Camp.

Day 04

Omo River

Visit Kara and Hamer villages around Lumale Camp. Overnight Lale’s Camp.

Day 05

Omo River

Take the boat up river for three hours and camp on the banks of the river with a group of Mursi tribes people. Overnight Mursi Fly Camp.

Day 06

Omo River

Boat back down the river and visit both Nyangatom and Kwegu communities. Overnight Lale’s Camp.

Day 07

Omo River

Drive across the Murulle plains and get boat at Omerate. Boat down to Delta Camp on an island in the Omo Delta. Overnight Delta Fly Camp.

Day 08

Omo River

Visit Dassenech communities and witness DIMI ceremony. Boat cruise on to Lake Turkana, the Jade Sea. Overnight Delta Fly Camp.

Day 09

Addis Ababa

Catch charter flight back to Addis. Celebrate Meskel in Addis. 2 nights Sapphire Hotel.

Day 10

Addis Ababa

Full day city touring in Addis. Chance to visit Jemma Gorge and Debre Libanos Monastery.

Day 11

Transfer to airport. Flight out.
