Itinerary Description

Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park (Parc National des Volcans) is by far Rwanda’s major international attraction. One gorilla trek and one golden monkey trek are included. Fly from Kigali to the Serengeti for 4 exciting nights (3 full days of game viewing in this magnificent park!)  Stay in a permanent tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti. End with three nights on the tropical paradise of Pemba Island.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Kigali

On arrival in Kigali, Rwanda, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight The Retreat.

Day 02

Drive Kigali - Musanze - Volcanoes National Park

This morning you will have a Kigali City Tour including a visit to the Genocide Museum and local market. Onward transfer to your lodge in Musanze and Volcanoes National Park. Overnight Sambora Kinigi Lodge.

Day 03

Volcanoes National Park

This morning you will be transferred to the park gate at Kinigi for your first gorilla visit (6:45 am). Here you will meet your tracker and the day will be spent tracking the mountain gorillas.  Overnight Sambora Kinigi Lodge.

Day 04

Volcanoes National Park - Drive Musanze – Kigali

This morning you will depart on a golden monkey trek or optional 2nd Gorilla Trek. Return to your lodge to freshen up.  Onward road transfer back to Kigali where you will have the evening at leisure. Overnight The Retreat.

Day 05

Fly Kigali – Serengeti

Transfer to the airport for your scheduled charter flight to the Serengeti. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your safari camp. Enjoy an afternoon shared game drive. Overnight Olmara Camp.

Day 06-08

Serengeti

Enjoy four days of shared game drives. 3 nights Olmara Camp.

Day 09

Fly Serengeti – Pemba Island

Depart this morning on your scheduled charter flight  to the island of Pemba.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to your resort. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Manta Resort.

Day 10+11

Pemba Island

Enjoy two days at leisure. 2 nights Manta Resort.

Day 12

Fly Pemba – Dar es Salaam

Today you will transfer to the airport for your scheduled charter flight to Dar es Salaam.
