Itinerary Description

This itinerary offers the ultimate family safari as you travel to three diverse areas including Victoria Falls with the Upper Zambezi, Hwange National Park and the cultural site of Matobo Hills. Activities are varied and have something for everyone including day and night game drives in open-vehicles, walking safaris, game viewing by boat, exploration of caves to see ancient bushmen art and cultural village visits. The camps and lodges welcome children 7 and up and enjoy sharing the African experience with them. Ask about visiting a Mother Africa or Children in the Wilderness project for a day or two of voluntourism.

Rates reflect special “Stay 6-Pay 5” at Ivory Lodge and Amalinda Lodge! This offer includes a free transfer Ivory/Amalinda.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Arrive Johannesburg

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight African Rock Hotel & Spa.

Day 02+03

Victoria Falls

This morning you will be transferred back to the airport for your scheduled flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival you will have a private transfer to your lodge. Late this afternoon, board your vessel for a scenic sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Next day you will be collected for a morning Tour of Victoria Falls. Continue to a local village school where you have the opportunity to meet with students and teachers (this visit operates on weekdays and when school is in session). Return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 2 nights Palm River or Elephant Camp.

Day 04-06

Hwange

Return road transfer to the Victoria Falls airport for your scheduled charter flight to Hwange National Park. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and game drive en route to camp. Day and night game drives and walks are offered. Enjoy two days of game viewing activities. 3 nights Ivory Lodge, Khulu Bush Camp or Sable Valley or Little Makalolo Camp.

Day 07-09

Matobo Hills

After breakfast, depart by private vehicle where you drive from Hwange to your lodge located in the Matobo National Park arriving late afternoon. Enjoy two days of activities. 3 nights Amalinda Lodge.

Day 10

Matobo Hills/Bulawayo/Johannesburg/Depart

Road transfer to the Bulawayo Airport for your scheduled inter-Africa flight to Johannesburg.
