Itinerary Description

This safari offers a privately guided game viewing experience to Tanzania. You travel as your own small, independent group (minimum 2 persons) by 4x4 vehicle with photo roof hatches. In the Serengeti you have three days of game drives in this magnificent game park. Customize your adventure (and budget) by selecting Mid-Range or Luxury Accommodations. A scheduled charter flight between the Serengeti and Kigali brings you to Rwanda. Two mountain gorilla trek permits for Volcanoes National Park are included.

Classic Option: Kahawa Cottages, Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge, Acacia Farm Lodge, Intimate Camp Seronera, and Ingagi Park View Lodge (optional upgrade to Amakoro Songa)

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01

Kilimanjaro/Arusha

On arrival in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, you will be met and transferred to your lodge.

Classic Option: overnight Kahawa Cottages.

Premier Option: overnight Arusha Coffee Lodge

Day 02

Tarangire

After breakfast you will depart by private safari vehicle with your guide and proceed by road to Tarangire Park. Stop en route for lunch before continuing to your camp, game viewing along the way.

Classic Option: 2 nights Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge.

Premier Option: Lemala Mpingo Ridge. 

Day 03

Tarangire

Enjoy a full day of game viewing, including a picnic lunch.

Day 04

Ngorongoro Crater

Depart this morning with a packed picnic lunch to Lake Manyara for a game drive. Continue on to either Karatu or the Ngorongoro Crater.

Classic Option: 2 nights Acacia Farm Lodge.

Premier Option: 2 nights Lion’s Paw Camp.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater

This morning depart to the Crater Rim and descend for a morning of game viewing on the crater floor. Enjoy lunch on the crater floor. Return to your lodge late afternoon.

Day 06

Serengeti

Classic Option: Depart your lodge this morning and continue to the Central Serengeti. Stop at Oldupai Gorge en route.

Classic Option: 3 nights Intimate Seronera.

Premier Option – Jan-Mar: drive from your camp to the Eastern Serengeti. Stop at Oldupai Gorge en-route. 3 nights Lemala Nanyukie.

Premier Option – Jun-Oct: transfer to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to the Northern Serengeti. 3 nights Lemala Kuria Hills.

Days 07+08

Serengeti

Enjoy two full days of game viewing. At an additional cost, a hot air balloon ride can be arranged.

Day 09

Volcanoes

Early morning transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled charter to Kigali, Rwanda. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge in Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy dinner and the night at leisure.

Classic Option: Ingagi Park or Amakoro Songa.

Premier Option: Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or Bisate or One&Only Gorilla’s Nest or  Singita Kwitonda.

Day 10

Volcanoes

Your day starts with an early morning wake-up and then a transfer to the park gate at Kinigi for your first gorilla trek.

Day 11

Kigali

This morning you will depart on your second gorilla trek. Return to the lodge to freshen up and then in the early afternoon you will be driven back to Kigali, having lunch en-route. Check into your hotel where you will have the evening at leisure. Overnight Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 12

Kigali

This morning you will have a City Tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide Museum and the local market. An optional visit at the Women for Women Organization can also be arranged. Lunch is included and will be served in a local restaurant. You will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight.
